WISCONSIN – Devil’s Lake State Park

Devil’s Lake State Park

With its 9,217 acres, Devil’s Lake State Park, located in Baraboo, is Wisconsin’s largest state park.  I’ve been visiting this park since I was a child.  We typically hiked the West Bluff Trail from the North shore and returned to the beach on the Tumbled Rocks Trail.  Less than ten years, I discovered the Balanced Rock Trail and Devil’s Doorway.  I can’t believe that I missed this for so many years.  Both hikes are amazing!

The West Bluff Trail, the Balanced Rock Trail, and the portion of the East Bluff Trail that leads to Devils Doorway are all part of the Ice Age National Scenic Trail.  You can see photos and read about my travels along other segments of the Ice Age National Scenic Trail here.
